Do you ever wonder about falling asleep while praying or reading Scripture? Like, if you should feel guilty? Maybe if you prioritize sleep over your time with God that’s one thing, but if you happen to fall asleep at the end of your prayer time or Scripture reading – is that not the most comforting thing? To peacefully fall asleep in the arms of your Heavenly Father while talking to Him?
We can’t base our trust in God’s sovereignty on how we feel. We have to base it on what we know. God is Who He says He is. The circumstances never change His faithfulness.
Even though we don’t always stand when we read Scripture, our heart posture should always be one of “standing” out of reverence for God’s Word being open before us.

In Matthew, Jesus marveled at the centurion’s faith. People marvel at Jesus – Who He is and what He does, but He marvels at faith. I hope I can find ways to marvel at God every day, and I hope and pray my faith can be something that Jesus marvels at.
